Eligibility
To be considered for this position, candidates should:
- Have prior work experience (PQE) in the Indian Media and Entertainment industry.
- Possess 2-3 years of relevant work experience, though exceptional knowledge and skills may be considered over years of experience.
- Have a good understanding of Media & Entertainment Laws, Intellectual Property Laws, Civil Procedure Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, and Constitution of India.
- Be familiar with the commerce and business arrangements within the Indian film and media industry.
Role and Responsibilities
The Legal Associate will be responsible for:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements, including co-production deals, license deals, production deals, talent engagement deals, and rights assignment/license deals.
- Conducting production clearance and legal review of scripts and content for titles created by clients.
- Performing chain of title and rights due diligence as required.
- Creating and maintaining trackers and innovative tools for client work.
- Collaborating with client teams for stamp duty calculations, payments, title clearances, and registration.
- Researching and sharing knowledge on new developments in the legal profession and Media and Entertainment industry.
