Culture
Our Knowledge Management team drives the exchange of knowledge and learning within the Firm, integrating knowledge and technology and developing practice resources in a three-pronged strategy:
- Legal training with an emphasis on interactive learning/ experiential exercises;
- Skills training, including negotiation, presentation, writing, business development and technology; and
- Knowledge and deal experience-sharing sessions among partners.
The Firm’s focus on constantly upgrading software and systems directly benefits our team and our clients. Our Innovation Cell’s specific mandate is to seek and evaluate new applications and programs to augment our legal services and support functions. The team regularly tests new products and explores ideas to improve current systems and processes.
Internally, our custom-built due diligence software and AI-powered document management solutions facilitate knowledge sharing and archival. Our proprietary project management and Closing Tracker tools enable clients to access interactive dashboards to track M&A and financing progress in real time.
ON REFLECTION
AZB has a different DNA – as a junior, then as a partner, and now even sometimes as a client, there is a differentiation from other firms. You’re thrown in the deep end as a junior, given a lot of opportunities, and the learning is just that much faster. To build your career and walk away with people whom you think of as family, it doesn’t really get better than that.

ON HIERARCHY
Comparatively, we’re a young firm. The average age of our lawyers is slightly higher than the average age of young India, around 30 years, which means a youthful, vibrant culture, and a friendly, open atmosphere. It’s also a flat structure, we don’t stand on ceremony – there are no Ma’ams and Sirs here.
