About the Competition
The 3rd Article Writing Competition, 2024, organized by the Legal Aid Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, invites submissions from participants. Focused on the theme “Bridging the Justice Gap: Promoting Equal Access to Legal Rights for All,” this competition provides a platform for law students across India to present innovative ideas addressing barriers to justice and proposing solutions to promote equality.
About the Organisation
The Legal Aid Centre (LAC) at the University of Lucknow works tirelessly to ensure equal access to justice for all, with a particular focus on marginalized and deprived communities. LAC organizes events, campaigns, and competitions to promote legal literacy and awareness, creating a more inclusive legal system.
The articles from this competition may get published in reputed journals like the International Journal of Law Research, Education and Social Sciences or the Journal of Legal Research and Juridical Sciences, subject to review.
Theme
The competition’s theme is “Bridging the Justice Gap: Promoting Equal Access to Legal Rights for All.”
Participants are encouraged to explore subtopics, including:
- Barriers to access justice: Socio-economic, geographical, and cultural challenges.
- Legal aid services: Their role in promoting equitable justice.
- Technology’s impact: Enhancing or hindering access to justice.
- Community-based approaches: Facilitating access through local organizations.
Eligibility
- Open to all law students pursuing 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programs at accredited institutions in India.
- Individual and team submissions (maximum of two co-authors) are allowed.
Submission Guidelines
- Word count: Between 1,500 and 3,000 words (excluding footnotes and bibliography).
- Formatting:
- Font: Times New Roman, Size 12 for the main text, and Size 10 for footnotes.
- Line spacing: 1.5 for the main text and 1.0 for footnotes.
- Margins: 1 inch on A4-sized pages.
- Citation: Harvard Bluebook (20th edition).
- Plagiarism: Strictly limited to 10%.
Awards and Prizes
- Winner:
- Cash prize of ₹1,500.
- Publication in the International Journal of Law Research, Education and Social Sciences (subject to review).
- Runner-Up:
- Cash prize of ₹1,000.
- Publication in the Journal of Legal Research and Juridical Sciences (subject to review).
- Top Five Participants:
- Certificate of Merit.
- Internship opportunity at Jus Corpus.
- All Participants:
- E-Certificate of Participation.
