Eligibility
To be considered for the Associate Counsel position, candidates must possess:
- A degree in law.
- A license to practice law in their home jurisdiction.
- Significant relevant experience in handling legal and regulatory issues independently.
- Experience with restructuring and M&A transactions is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to lead teams in a matrix environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools is preferred.
Role and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Associate Counsel include:
- Independently handling legal and regulatory issues across multiple businesses.
- Addressing both routine and complex legal questions and projects.
- Assisting senior attorneys with complex legal issues and projects.
- Reviewing standard documents and contracts, and preparing filings.
- Building professional experience and practical knowledge of applied law and business functions.
- Demonstrating proficiency in specific areas of law, specialty, function, or geographic region.
- Supervising and mentoring paralegals or administrative assistants.
- Leading projects for the legal function.
- Providing support and contributing to the organization’s overall objectives and goals.
