About the Competition

The 7th Arun Jaitley International Insolvency and Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition focuses on corporate insolvency, with a special emphasis on cross-border insolvency. The moot aims to give law students a platform to engage with complex legal issues related to insolvency law, refine their advocacy skills, and interact with leading professionals in the field.

This moot offers a unique opportunity for participants to dive deep into the intricacies of insolvency law, particularly how corporate and cross-border insolvency matters are handled. The competition promises to be intellectually challenging and offers a chance for students to expand their understanding of a critical area of law..

This competition is organized by the Centre for Transnational Commercial Law (CTCL) at NLUD and is supported by key institutions, including the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) and the UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RCAP). The event is also being conducted in collaboration with INSOL India and the Insolvency Law Academy.

Eligibility

The competition is open to all law students enrolled in either a 5-year integrated law course or a 3-year LL.B. program at any recognized institution.

Theme for 2024

The theme for the 7th edition of the AJIIBMC is Corporate Insolvency, with a focus on Cross-Border Insolvency. Participants will grapple with nuanced issues of corporate insolvency, including the challenges posed by cross-border insolvency matters, making this moot highly relevant for today’s globalized business environment.

The registration fee for the competition is Rs. 5,000/- per team. Payment can be made via the provided link, and participants must send payment confirmations to insolvency@nludelhi.ac.into finalize their registration.

Registration Process

To participate in the AJIIBMC, universities must register by completing the Google Form. Along with submitting the form, a copy must be attached and emailed to insolvency@nludelhi.ac.inwith the subject line stating “Registration form of [Name of the University].” Ensure that the registration and payment processes are completed before the extended deadline of 15th September 2024.
