About IMS Unison University

IMS Unison University (IUU), part of the Unison Education Foundation, was initially established as the Institute of Management Studies in 1996. In 2013, it was granted university status by the Government of Uttarakhand, marking a new chapter of excellence in higher education. With over 25 years of experience, IUU combines traditional values with modern education, especially in its rapidly growing School of Law. SoL integrates interdisciplinary learning, covering law alongside social sciences, humanities, and management studies to prepare students for the complexities of the legal world.

About the Event

The 2nd Edition of the IUU Trial Advocacy Competition aims to enhance the skills of emerging legal professionals. Organized by the Trial Advocacy Society, this competition invites law students from across India to participate, helping them gain practical insights into trial proceedings. This year’s competition promises to be a dynamic event, honing the professional abilities of students and enabling them to learn from each other.

Eligibility

The competition welcomes law students pursuing a three- or five-year LLB program at recognized universities and law colleges in India. LLM students are also eligible to participate.

Official Language

The official language of the competition is English, ensuring clear communication and uniformity throughout the event.

Team Composition

Each team can include up to three members: two mooters and one researcher. This team structure allows participants to collaborate effectively and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of trial advocacy.

  • Submission of Soft Copy of Memorials: November 22, 2024
  • Submission of Hard Copy of Memorials: November 28, 2024
  • Inaugural, Draw of Lots, Exchange of Memorials, and Researcher Test: November 28, 2024
  • Preliminary Rounds: November 28, 2024
  • Semi-finals and Final Round: November 29, 2024
  • Valedictory Ceremony: November 29, 2024
