About the Internship
Adv. Dharmendra Chatur, Partner at Poovayya & Co. is offering a unique opportunity for two paid research interns/assistants to work on research projects related to commercial litigation, cross-border disputes, and judicial reforms. This long-term role offers aspiring legal professionals a chance to dive deep into important areas of commercial law while receiving mentorship and guidance from a seasoned expert. The position will initially be for three months, with a potential extension based on performance. Interns will engage in in-depth legal research and assist in writing articles and papers on contemporary legal issues. They are expected to dedicate 10-12 hours per week to the role.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this research internship, candidates must:
- Be in their 4th or 5th year of a 5-year LLB program or in the 3rd year of a 3-year LLB program.
- Have a demonstrated interest in commercial law, company law, insolvency law, private international law, and litigation.
- Provide three publications of exceptional quality in law blogs, peer-reviewed law reviews, or legal journals to demonstrate their expertise.
- Be capable of dedicating at least 10-12 hours per week to research and writing tasks.
Role and Responsibilities
As a research intern or assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting legal research on topics related to commercial litigation, arbitration, cross-border disputes, and insolvency.
- Writing articles and papers for publication, under the guidance of Dharmendra Chatur.
- Assisting in analyzing judicial reforms and potential legislative changes.
- Contributing to ongoing research projects related to cross-border litigation and arbitration.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest legal trends and cases in commercial law.
- Participating in one-on-one mentoring sessions on career development, LLM applications, and research opportunities.
