Eligibility
Program Coordinator
- Education: Master’s degree in Criminal Law or a relevant field.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of practice in law and/or research/advocacy on prison reforms, human rights, or rights of marginalized communities.
- Skills: Leadership, coordination, communication, and documentation skills; familiarity with prison systems; knowledge of human rights and fair trial principles; strong ethical standards.
Research Associates
- Education: Master’s degree in law or a relevant field.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of research experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong research and analytical skills; familiarity with MIS, legal research databases, legal frameworks, and bail jurisprudence; excellent communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; understanding of social justice issues and human rights.
Role and Responsibilities
Program Coordinator
- Lead a team of 12 members focused on access to justice.
- Organize and coordinate with courts, prisons, and the legal aid system.
- Identify prisoners in need of legal aid and assist them with available legal options.
- Draft legal documents and provide legal support while maintaining ethical standards.
- Stay updated with legal developments and best practices in fair trial advocacy.
Research Associates
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and gather complex legal information.
- Present research findings effectively through written and verbal communication.
- Work independently and as part of a team to manage multiple research projects.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to address social justice issues.
- Focus on challenges faced by prisoners with multiple vulnerabilities.
