About Internship
The Summer Internship Programme 2024 at the Government of NCT of Delhi is a prestigious program aimed at providing law students with exposure to the functioning of the government and its legal departments. Interns will engage in various activities that will enhance their understanding of legal processes, governance, and public policy. The program is tailored to help students apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, thereby bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application.
About the Organisation
The Government of NCT of Delhi is responsible for the governance and administration of the capital city of India. It plays a crucial role in managing various public services, law and order, and developmental activities in Delhi. The government is divided into multiple departments, each focusing on specific areas such as health, education, public works, and law. The legal department, where the internship is primarily based, handles all legal affairs of the government, providing legal advice, handling litigation, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Eligibility
Students who are pursuing studies:-
• in 2nd & 3rd year of three-year Law Degree Course or
• in 3rd to 5th year of five five-year Law Degree Course from a recognized college/Law school/University.
Role and Responsibilities
Interns selected for this program will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
• Legal Research: Conducting thorough legal research on various issues related to governance and public policy.
• Drafting: Assisting in drafting legal documents, reports, and policy briefs.
• Case Analysis: Analysing case laws and preparing case summaries.
• Administrative Support: Providing support in administrative functions related to legal proceedings and government operations.
• Field Visits: Participating in field visits to understand the on-ground implementation of laws and policies.
