About Organisation
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), headquartered in Vanijaya Bhawan, New Delhi, is an integral part of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Since its inception, DGFT has played a crucial role in regulating and promoting foreign trade in India. With the economic liberalization policies introduced in 1991, DGFT’s role has expanded to include the facilitation of trade and the implementation of various trade policies to boost India’s global trade footprint.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the Young Professional positions are as follows:
- Economics: Masters in Economics from a recognized university.
- Law: Masters in Law from a recognized university.
- Management: Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from a recognized university.
- Engineering: B. Tech/BE in Mechanical, Chemical, IT/Computer Science, or MCA from a recognized university.
Candidates must possess the requisite qualification on the date of publication of the advertisement.
Role and Responsibilities
Young Professionals at DGFT will be involved in:
- Assisting in policy formulation and implementation of schemes under the Foreign Trade Policy.
- Conducting research and analysis related to their respective disciplines.
- Collaborating with senior officials and other stakeholders to develop and implement trade policies.
- Preparing reports and presentations on various aspects of foreign trade.
