About Job

Wipro is looking for an attorney to join its in-house Employment Law team. This is a remote, full-time, mid-senior level position based in the United States, reporting directly to the Head of Employment Law for the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate will handle a range of employment law matters, providing real-time advice and support to various teams within Wipro.

Eligibility

  • Minimum of three years of employment law experience.
  • Hands-on experience managing employment litigation and counseling.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to function as a strategic labor and employment thought leader.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Handle employee-related disputes, review pre-litigation claims, and track employment litigation, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Work on claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, whistleblowers, contractor classification, and other employment-law related issues.
  • Advise HR and Risk teams on internal investigations across a mixed caseload of employment law matters.
  • Provide labor and employment law advice regarding personnel hiring, retention, and separation issues to HR, Talent Acquisition teams, and business management.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and related legal documents.
  • Monitor and advise on new developments in employment laws, assessing their impact on the organization, and ensuring statutory compliance.
  • Develop and improve employment law-related compliance processes and guidelines.
  • Respond to statutory or customer audit queries and reviews.
  • Identify areas for employment law-related training and provide such training to HR, employees, and management.
  • Manage outside labor and employment counsel for cost control and effectiveness.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
