Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) is hiring for the position of Associate Regional Counsel (ARC) – East. This position is aimed at strengthening the legal arm of the company in the eastern region of India, covering all of ABFRL’s business operations and subsidiary businesses. The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Regional Counsel (RC) in managing leasing matters, conducting due diligence, overseeing property litigations, and mentoring Junior Regional Counsels (JRC). This role will play a pivotal part in providing legal support across different business functions in the region.

Eligibility
- Candidates must hold a BA LLB (Hons.) or BBA LLB degree from a recognized institution.
- 6-8 years of post-qualification experience in legal practice, with a focus on leasing, litigation, and property due diligence.
- Prior experience in mentoring legal teams and working with external counsels.
- Strong knowledge of laws related to leasing, property disputes, and municipal regulations.
- Proficiency in legal documentation and litigation management.
- Experience in managing legal databases and digitization of legal documentation.
Role and Responsibilities
The Associate Regional Counsel will be responsible for:
- Supporting the RC in conducting due diligence for property leases, drafting and scrutinizing legal documents, and ensuring their registration.
- Mentoring Junior Regional Counsels (JRC) and overseeing their work.
- Coordinating with external counsels on legal risks, title due diligence, and litigation strategies.
- Vetting legal documentation before submission to authorities or courts.
- Conducting risk analysis on properties and preparing risk/deviation notes.
- Managing regional legal databases, digitizing leases, and maintaining compliance-related documentation.
- Assisting in negotiation of leases and working with different internal teams like finance and HR to resolve legal disputes related to leasing and retail operations.
- Providing legal support in police complaints and ensuring timely closure of cases.

Mode and Location
