Ather Energy is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join its Corporate Legal Team. This position is ideal for legal professionals with a minimum of 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience. The role involves managing organization-wide compliance activities, providing strategic legal advice, and ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel and other stakeholders across various functions within the company.

Eligibility
The ideal candidate should possess a law degree from a premier institution and have a minimum of 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the compliance domain. A strong command over Excel and experience with Compliance Management Tools are essential. Candidates should have a good understanding of contract drafting and review, along with excellent legal research abilities. The role requires a proactive, solution-oriented approach and a mindset to thrive in a challenging start-up environment.
Role and Responsibilities
– Managing organization-wide compliance activities, including monitoring and tracking compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
– Developing and implementing a compliance playbook tailored to the needs of various functions such as Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Finance, and HR
– Conducting compliance risk assessments, evaluations, and mitigation planning across functions
– Coordinating with functional compliance champions and tracking timely compliance efforts
– Preparing periodic MIS and exception reports for the Management and the Board
– Designing and delivering compliance training modules, and raising compliance awareness across the organization
– Keeping abreast of the latest developments in applicable laws, regulations, and rules, and ensuring timely compliance with new requirements
– Providing strategic legal advice to stakeholders on statutory compliance matters
– Traveling to various locations across the country to ensure compliance and conduct audits
