Eligibility
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Essential: The applicant must be enrolled as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961, with any State Bar Council and have 3 years of post-qualification experience as of 01.09.2024.
- Desirable:
- Diploma or Postgraduate/LL.M in Arbitration Law, Commercial Law, or Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
- Five years of experience at the bar.
- Strong research and analytical skills, proficient writing ability, and knowledge of legal research software.
Role and Responsibilities
The Deputy Counsel will play a significant role in assisting and overseeing arbitration and conciliation proceedings. Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing and coordinating arbitration and mediation cases.
- Assisting in legal research and analysis of arbitration-related issues.
- Drafting legal documents and ensuring compliance with arbitration procedures.
- Supporting the functioning of the arbitration centre through administrative and legal expertise.
This role is crucial in ensuring efficient dispute resolution and supporting DIAC’s ADR processes.
