Since its inception in 1855, GLC Mumbai has nurtured some of the country’s most prominent legal minds, significantly contributing to India’s judicial and political development. Today, GLC Mumbai remains a beacon of legal education, fostering a deep understanding of the law among its students.

One of the most dynamic student organizations at GLC Mumbai is Students for the Promotion of International Law (SPIL). In a world increasingly interconnected by globalization, the role of international law has never been more crucial. SPIL Mumbai recognizes this and seeks to promote the study and understanding of international law beyond the traditional classroom setting. By organizing events such as quizzes, guest lectures, research paper analyses, and competitions, SPIL provides law students with a platform to engage deeply with the field of international law.

About the Opportunity

SPIL Mumbai is now inviting submissions for its blog, offering law students, professors, industry practitioners, academicians, and research scholars the chance to contribute their insights on topics of international relevance. This is an exciting opportunity to have your work published on a prominent platform, reach a wide audience, and earn recognition within the legal community.

Eligibility

Submissions are welcome from graduate students, professors, industry practitioners, academicians, and research scholars.

Theme

Submissions should focus on any topic of international relevance. This broad theme allows for a wide range of topics, from international trade law to human rights, environmental law, international criminal law, and beyond.

Awards

Authors of selected submissions will have their work published on SPIL Mumbai’s official website. In addition to this prestigious publication, authors will receive an E-Certificate of Publication, providing formal recognition of their contribution.

Submission Guidelines

  • Authorship: Submissions can be co-authored by two individuals. However, both co-authored and single submissions will be treated as separate entries, and submissions falling into both categories will be disqualified.
  • Originality: All submissions must be original and unpublished work. The plagiarism limit is set between 15-20%, excluding footnotes. Submissions exceeding this limit will be disqualified.
  • Anonymity: To ensure a fair review process, submissions must not contain any identifying information about the author(s). Any such inclusion may result in disqualification.
  • Word Limit: The word limit for submissions is between 1000 and 1500 words, including footnotes and bibliography.
  • Citations: All citations and footnotes must follow the Harvard Bluebook (20th edition) referencing style. Extensive footnotes or quotations should be avoided.
  • Format: Submissions must be in .doc or .docx format and sent to glcspilmumbai@gmail.com with the subject “Blog Submission.” A separate document containing the author’s details should accompany the submission.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Main Body: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing.
  • Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10 pt, 1.0 line spacing.
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
