Herbalife is looking for an experienced and strategic Legal Director to manage its legal affairs in India. The role includes overseeing legal matters for the company and supporting the Vice President, Legal, APAC & India. The Legal Director will lead a team of 4 members and ensure that legal operations align with the company’s objectives, which include managing regulatory compliance, litigation, and corporate legal functions. The candidate will be a part of the India Management team and will play a key role in managing Herbalife’s top global market.

Eligibility
- Bachelor of Laws from a recognized university in India.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience, preferably in a large Indian or international law firm or corporate legal department.
- Strong experience in litigation, regulatory matters, and compliance.
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with Indian Food, Food Safety, Company, FEMA, and Consumer Protection laws.
- Experience in leading legal teams, managing budgets, and hiring personnel.
- Ability to proactively solve practical legal problems with minimal supervision.
- Experience in working with senior management and providing strategic legal advice.
- Member of the bar in any state in India is preferred.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the legal team in India, managing resources and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Collaborate with the General Manager, Finance, HR, Corporate Communications, and other departments to provide legal solutions that support business growth.
- Oversee litigation and regulatory compliance, including direct interactions with government and regulatory bodies.
- Provide ongoing advisory services to management on compliance with legal and regulatory privacy and data protection requirements.
- Develop and implement legal training programs to minimize exposure to legal risks.
- Lead crisis management efforts and represent Herbalife in various proceedings.
- Manage external counsel relationships and support the Ethics & Compliance Office as needed.
- Investigate escalated compliance issues and ensure legal documentation is reviewed and accurate.
