The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), a leading body in agricultural research and education, is inviting applications for the positions of Legal Advisor and Assistant Legal Advisor ICAR is looking to fill two legal vacancies: Legal Advisor and Assistant Legal Advisor. Each position requires a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in legal departments or public sector entities. The roles involve overseeing legal matters, ensuring compliance, and providing legal counsel on diverse issues. These deputation-based positions allow professionals currently working in government or related sectors to transition into ICAR, leveraging their expertise to support legal frameworks within the organization.

ICAR, established in 1929, is one of the world’s largest national agricultural systems, headquartered in New Delhi. The organization functions under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India. Eligibility
Legal Advisor:
- Experience: Officers in the legal cadre of Central/State Government, Union Territories, Autonomous Bodies, or Public Sector Undertakings, with:
- A minimum of 5 years of service in Level-12 of Pay Matrix or equivalent.
- At least 14 years of experience handling legal matters.
- Educational Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in law (LLB).
Assistant Legal Advisor:
- Experience: Officers in the legal cadre of Central/State Government, Union Territories, Autonomous Bodies, or Public Sector Undertakings, with:
- A minimum of 5 years of service in Level-11 of Pay Matrix or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of experience handling legal matters.
- Educational Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in law (LLB).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Legal Advisor:
- Lead the legal team at ICAR.
- Handle complex legal matters.
- Provide counsel on legislative and legal issues.
- Ensure compliance with legal frameworks.
- Assistant Legal Advisor:
- Assist in legal research, drafting, and reviewing documents.
- Provide support in legal proceedings.
- Ensure accurate application of legal policies.
- Help manage day-to-day legal affairs of the organization.

Mode and Location
This is a full-time on-site position at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi. Candidates must be from Central or State Government legal cadres, public sector units, or similar organizations, as these roles are on a deputation basis.
