The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is inviting applications for the position of Legal Consultant. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with one of India’s premier research organizations, engaging in litigation and legal matters concerning biomedical research. The position is based at the ICMR headquarters in New Delhi, with a salary ranging from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

The ICMR, headquartered in New Delhi, is the apex body for biomedical research in India. As one of the oldest medical research organizations globally, it plays a crucial role in addressing the country’s health challenges through scientific research and finding practical solutions. ICMR operates under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Eligibility
- Age: The candidate must be under 63 years of age as of the application deadline.
- Essential Qualification: A three-year LLB or integrated LLB from a UGC-approved university.
- Desirable Qualification: LLM (two-year course) from a UGC-approved university, with strong communication skills in English and proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience:
- Minimum of five years of litigation practice as an Advocate before judicial or quasi-judicial forums.
- Minimum of five years of experience handling legal matters for Central Government Ministries, Organizations, or PSUs.
Role and Responsibilities
- Engage in legal matters related to ICMR’s biomedical research activities.
- Handle court litigations and legal issues faced by the ICMR at judicial and quasi-judicial forums.
- Provide legal advice and manage legal documentation for ICMR.
- Utilize and manage the Legal Information Management Portal for handling legal matters efficiently.
