Role and Responsibilities
As the In-House Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for the following:
- Advising and guiding management on legal, regulatory, and compliance risks, ensuring the company is protected against legal challenges.
- Collaborating with risk and control functions like ethics, compliance, and internal audit to minimize business risks.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents across different departments.
- Ensuring compliance with Indian laws, advising statutory bodies, and staying up to date on regulatory changes.
- Managing corporate governance matters, including keeping company records, preparing meeting minutes, and filing financial statements.
- Managing external legal counsel and maintaining relationships with law firms to safeguard the company’s legal interests.
- Providing legal awareness training to employees to foster a culture of compliance within the organization.
- Collaborating with the People & Performance team to manage employment-related risks, including internal investigations and disciplinary matters.
