Eligibility
To be eligible for the Assistant Legal Counsel position at Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications: A graduate degree in Law (5-year or 3-year program) from a recognized university as a regular scholar.
Experience: Up to 3 years of experience in the legal departments of a bank or financial institution.
Functional Skills: Expertise in general and commercial laws, civil procedure code, transfer of property act, regulatory guidelines on recovery, statutory compliance, and legal audit. In-depth understanding of mortgage-related concerns is essential.

Role and Responsibilities
As an Assistant Legal Counsel at Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, you will be responsible for:
Drafting and Vetting: Reviewing all kinds of credit documentation for MSE and housing, including security documents and transaction documents for various facilities.
Title Scrutiny Reports (TSR): Vetting TSRs submitted by panel advocates to ensure they meet the bank’s business requirements.
Mortgage Management: Assisting in the registration of mortgages and managing legal issues related to the creation/registration of mortgages, hypothecation, and pledges.
Legal Audit: Assisting the team in completing legal audits in a timely manner and coordinating with business/credit functions for effective closure.
Internal Process Management: Adhering to timelines for maintaining TAT, reporting MIS, and submitting periodical statements to the regional/corporate legal department.
Stakeholder Education: Educating stakeholders on legal aspects, maintaining a database on applicable laws, and conducting training sessions on relevant laws and acts.
