Velocity is seeking a Legal Counsel with 3-6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join their team in Bengaluru. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for mid-senior level professionals with a strong background in fintech and technology laws. The role involves ensuring compliance with fintech regulations, managing contracts, providing product counseling, and supporting corporate transactions.

Eligibility
- Education: Graduate from a top-tier law school.
- Experience: 3-6 years PQE, preferably in a reputed law firm and/or fintech company in India.
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of fintech regulations and technology laws, experience in managing key partnership contracts, product counseling experience, and preferred experience in VC/PE/M&A.
- Attributes: Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with fintech and tech regulations in India, monitor regulatory changes, liaise with regulatory bodies, and advise on necessary actions.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate partnership contracts, manage contractual relationships, and provide legal advice on contract disputes.
- Product Counseling: Provide legal counsel on the launch of new SaaS and fintech products, ensure compliance with applicable laws, and collaborate with product teams to mitigate legal risks.
- Corporate Transactions: Assist in fundraising and acquisition transactions, conduct due diligence, and support the legal aspects of corporate financing and investments.
- General Legal Support: Provide day-to-day legal support, advise on corporate governance matters, and handle litigation or dispute resolution as needed.
