About National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT)

Operating under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the NCLT aims to ensure a transparent and efficient resolution of corporate disputes, safeguarding the interests of stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the role of Joint Registrar:
- Service Experience: Candidates should be officers from Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, Courts, Tribunals, statutory organizations, or State/Higher Judicial Service. They must:
- Hold an equivalent post on a regular basis within their parent cadre or department, or
- Serve in a post in Level-12 in the pay matrix of the Seventh Central Pay Commission with a minimum of five years of regular service, or
- Serve in a Level-11 post in the Seventh Central Pay Commission’s pay matrix with at least ten years of regular service.
Educational Qualifications:
Degree in Law: Applicants should hold a degree in law from a recognized university.
Experience in Personnel and Administrative Matters: Candidates must have hands-on experience in handling personnel and administrative functions, as these are essential for this role.
Role and Responsibilities
The Joint Registrar will play a key role in overseeing administrative functions, streamlining personnel management, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at the NCLT. Responsibilities include:
- Supervising staff and overseeing tribunal proceedings to ensure efficient case management.
- Supporting senior officials with administrative functions to enhance the tribunal’s overall efficiency.
- Coordinating with various departments and stakeholders, facilitating communication, and ensuring that procedural and operational guidelines are maintained.
- Playing an active role in personnel management, including recruitment and staff welfare, to promote a productive work environment.
- This position requires a proactive approach to managing administrative duties, supporting high-level tribunal functions, and ensuring compliance with tribunal protocols.
