Eligibility
To qualify for the Senior Associate – Direct Tax position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: The ideal candidate should have 4 to 6 years of experience in Direct Tax and Litigation. Prior work experience in a reputable law firm or a consulting firm specializing in tax litigation will be highly regarded.
- Educational Qualifications: Applicants must hold a degree in Chartered Accountancy and be a law graduate. This combination of financial and legal expertise is critical for handling tax-related cases.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Associate – Direct Tax, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
- Drafting petitions and other legal documents for tax litigation.
- Assisting Senior Counsel in complex tax litigation matters.
- Conducting research and performing in-depth analysis of cases related to direct tax.
- Representing clients before tax authorities, including appearing before the Assessing Officer (AO) and Commissioner.
- Advising clients on direct tax matters and providing written legal opinions.
- Supervising Associates and Interns, guiding them through research and case preparation.
