Eligibility Criteria
- Experience: Candidates should possess at least 2-3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in litigation.
- Location: Applicants should either be based in Chennai or willing to relocate immediately.
- Languages: Proficiency in Tamil is essential, as the role involves interacting with local clients and engaging with legal proceedings in Tamil.
- Start Date: Immediate availability is preferred to meet the firm’s urgent hiring needs.
Role and Responsibilities
The selected Associate will work across a diverse caseload, assisting and leading in matters related to:
- Commercial Litigation: Handling cases involving business disputes, contracts, partnerships, and corporate issues.
- Civil Litigation: Working on property, tenancy, and family disputes, among other civil matters.
- Criminal Litigation: Managing criminal cases, representing clients, and developing defense strategies.
The role demands a keen understanding of procedural and substantive law in these areas, along with an ability to navigate complex litigation processes across various legal forums in Chennai. Additionally, candidates will support senior attorneys, draft legal documents, and may represent clients in court, fostering both independence and growth in the legal field.
Perks and Compensation
Astris Legal offers a competitive monthly remuneration of ₹35,000, coupled with performance-based incentives.
Mode and Location
This is an on-site position based in Chennai. Associates should either be residing in Chennai or willing to relocate on short notice. Given the nature of litigation, proximity to the courts and client meetings is essential, making local residency a requisite for effective collaboration.
