Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for a position in the Law Department of Axis Bank, the candidate, at a minimum, is required to be qualified to be a lawyer i.e. the candidate must have a Law Degree (i.e. LL.B. or equivalent) recognized by the Bar Council of India, from a university/ college in India.
Role and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Provide legal support and guidance on issues like credit, foreclosure, outsourcing contracts, and compliance with banking laws.
- Draft, review, and negotiate non-standard documents, agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Advise on laws such as the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, RBI Regulations, FEMA, company laws, and others relevant to banking operations.
- Manage complex litigation, liaise with external counsel, and monitor their performance.
- Handle credit documentation, including drafting and advising on documentation issues.
- Offer guidance on marketing and product-related legal matters and support policy development.
- Monitor and communicate updates in state and central legal frameworks affecting banking operations.
- Draft premises-related agreements like leases and ATM contracts.
