Eligibility

- Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
- 0 to 3 years of practice in criminal law.

Role and Responsibilities
- Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
- Oversee and manage legal aid cases, particularly in criminal defense.
- Provide legal representation in Sessions Court trials.
- Collaborate with other legal aid defense counsels to ensure effective defense strategies.
- Conduct legal research and draft necessary legal documents.
- Maintain high standards of ethical practice in line with defense counsel duties.
- Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
- Assist the Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel in managing cases.
- Prepare and draft legal documents such as briefs, petitions, and defenses.
- Conduct detailed legal research to support case strategies.
- Provide support during trials and legal proceedings.
- Work effectively with other team members to ensure comprehensive legal defense.
